Next Year's Arrington Lecture Speaker(s) Announced
Last night Phillip Barlow announced that Carl Arrington and Susan Arrington Madsen
will both speak at the 2010 Arrington lecture in Logan, Utah. Carl and Susan are children of Leonard Arrignton, the historian for whom the lecture series is named. According to Barlow, one reason for the selection is that Arrington's diaries will finally be open for scrutiny in Utah State University's Special Collections.
Each fall a distinguished scholar is invited to deliver the Arrington Lecture at USU. The Special Collections and Archives in the Merrill-Cazier Library and the Leonard J. Arrington Lecture and Archives Foundation has selected the two speakers for next fall.
Later today (hopefully) I'll post my notes from Kathleen Flake's 2009 Arrington lecture. MormonTimes has an article on the lecture here.
